The Aisha Abba Abdullahi Memorial Foundation in addition to advocacy and awareness about blood cancer in Nigeria, also aims to provide trusted support systems to people affected by blood cancer.
More than 82 million Nigerians live on less than $1 a day and are unable to access the healthcare system in the country, which has resulted in over 5 people dying of Blood Cancer every day. The AAA Memorial Foundation looks out for people that fall into this category by providing them with psycho-social support to combat the scourge of blood cancers.
Through the support of sponsors and donors we will carry out interventions targeted at improving the chances of survival of warriors and at the same time, provide communal strength to their care-givers. As at August 2025, we have mobilized 549 units of blood through donation drives, supporting cancer patients and others.
Emotional support cannot be overemphasized in the fight against blood cancer, it is just as important as physical care during cancer treatment. While cancer experiences differ; the need for a good support system is one thing that cancer patients and their families have in common.
Through this community support group, 3AM Foundation will stand as a source of encouragement and hope. Some of the activities that we will carry out to achieve this includes visitation to newly diagnosed cancer patients, pairing of warriors and their caregivers with survivors and caregivers of survivors, access to a trusted platform for sharing experiences, etc.
In the foreseeable future, the AAA Memorial Foundation hopes to decrease the mortality rate of blood cancer in Nigeria through the activities within the scope of its support component.
